Packers: CB Jaire Alexander to miss Seattle game, WR Romeo Doubs set to return

Jaire Alexander will not play for a fifth time in the last six games.

Coach Matt LaFleur ruled the Green Bay Packers cornerback out Friday afternoon due to a knee injury. Alexander had practiced fully Wednesday and Thursday but was not on the field on Friday.

“Based on what I saw over the last couple days, didn’t feel like he was ready to play,” LaFleur said. “There’s certain requirements to go out there and play, certain speeds and what not. When you’re not hitting them, you’re not ready to play.

“I just didn’t want to have another situation like Chicago, quite frankly. Where you’re in there for a couple plays and it puts a bind on every other area.”

Alexander first suffered the knee injury late against Jacksonville. He missed the next game against Detroit, got a week for the bye and attempted to return against the Bears on Nov. 17. But he re-injured the knee early in that game and hasn’t played since.

In addition to Alexander, the Packers will be without safety Javon Bullard (ankle) and tight end Luke Musgrave (ankle) were also ruled out. CB Corey Ballentine is listed as questionable.

There was good news on the injury front, as wide receiver Romeo Doubs (concussion), safety Evan Williams (concussion) and linebacker Edgerrin Cooper (hamstring) would be available.

For the Seahawks, star running back Kenneth Walker III is listed as doubtful.
